There are few more things to follow up before we give you the testimonals and recommendations for awards.
The post-trip activities are like your final exam. If we dont see good results, then it will affect our recommendations for awards (some may not be recommended), testimonial (not all will get). All your contributions will be noted (Before, during and after trip)
Certificates (School + Vientiane) will be awarded only to those deserving students.

1.30 pm. Reached airport. Check in luggage. Guess the weight. 26kg !!! Didnt pay for access. Told the guy : Donated goods.
9.40 pm. After a long journey, reached Vientiane Airport finally. Immigration Officers pull me aside and ask me what did u bring. Asked me to open the luggage somemore. Told them that the things are for donations. Didnt appera friendly at all. Almost wanted to call my friend to save me. But go thru without hassle.

If you have $340 or more in your edusave funds:
Apply for full edsuave funds of $340. Pay cash deposit of $200.
If you have less than $340 in your edusave funds:
Apply for maximum amount that your have in your edusave. Pay the balance in cash.

If you have no more money in your edusave funds:
Pay $340 cash. No deposit needed.

DONT's
• Don’t Smoke • Don’t Fight • Don’t use obscene language or words that you are not suppose to say.• Don’t loiter around alone went you reach there.• Don’t wear any thing that is expensive there.• Don’t’ wear sexy or t-shirt that is lower than your shoulder for girls• Don’t take out your shirt during work. • Don’t wear expensive shoes or t-shirt.• Don’ play with your friend’s head. (Very Important)• Don’t speak to a stranger outside the work hours. • Don’t sleep late.• Don’t gamble at night (poker card etc.) • Don’t do things/acts that may endanger you or your friends • Don’t go out of the guess house after the given time.• Don’t go out with the locals (unless with teacher’s permission).• Girls must be accompanied by 2 male students when they break away from the group.• Do not share someone’s medicine • Don’t eat uncooked/half-cooked food, eg half-boiled eggs).• Don’t drink well water/tap water. Ask for boiled water/mineral water.• Don’t rub your eyes when working to prevent eye infection.• Don’t put down/complain about Lao’s culture/leaders/religion/government • Don’t behave in a noisy/rowdy manner• Be careful when using phrases like “street children” or “orphans”

Size of Baggage
Hand-carry baggage: 7 kg maximum
The maximum size of the bag, 56cm x 45cm x 25cm
All passengers are required to undergo security screening and have their hand-carry baggage x-rayed.
Passengers are prohibited from carrying any potentially dangerous items on their bodies, in their clothing or in their hand-carry baggage. Eg: pocket knives, scissors, and any liquid of more than 100ml.
If a passenger needs to carry such items for his or her trip, the items should be packed into the checked baggage.

Cost of Trip
The cost of the trip cost about $700.
For students who have not been subsidised for any overseas trips, ITE CE will pay half of this amount.
Each student will have to pay $350 in cash or edusave funds.
Students with family income of less than $1,500 may apply for Opportunity Fund. The fund will pay for 80% of the cash component of the $350.

You can find a variety of food outlets: resturants, cafes, road side stalls, etc
You can get pastries, noodles, prata, bbq fish, coffee, fruit juice, you tiao, nasi goreng, and many more
To be safe, buy only food that are cooked on-the-spot.
Do not drink from water direct from the tap. Boil your water or drink from bottled mineral water.
There is no halal certified food outlets in Laos. However, there are some food outlets that serves 'no pork no lark' menus.
(Halal certification is unique in Singapore. Many countries do not have any association to provide such certification)
